SINOPSIS

Película basada en los días posteriores al lanzamiento de la bomba atómica sobre las ciudades de Hiroshima y Nagasaki en 1945. Este terrible acontecimiento marcó la rendición del emperador Hirohito (Takataro Kataoka) y el fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Después, el presidente Truman encargó al general MacArthur (Tommy Lee Jones) la tarea de restaurar el gobierno japonés con la convocatoria de elecciones democráticas. Pero, ¿qué debía hacer MacArthur con el emperador? Otro estadounidense le seguirá de cerca para vigilar que cumple con su misión. Se trata de Bonner Fellers (Matthew Fox), un apasionado de la cultura asiática.
